When she embarked on her journey to Mumbai, a place
completely new to her, little did Shiro know that she will find her true love
in this city of dreams. It all started that momentous night, when fate willed that
Shiro, her brother and AKA be left alone at a local train station. Shiro’s
brother and AKA had already bonded well during the day. But it was that night
of distress which made AKA’s true feelings for Shiro come to the surface. His
concern for her that night and the days following it, made it very clear what
his heart yearned for. The same feelings were reflected in Shiro’s eyes too but
she refused to accept it before all of us. The love story blossomed with daily
lunch meetings between the two, where they pretended to talk to other people
but their eyes always sought out each other. In fact even Bhookad noticed their
love and has planned out all details of their fairytale wedding in which there
will be live counters of sada dosa and onion uttapam :P . The fact that Shiro
loves south Indian food and her family was very impressed with AKA just
reinforces that it’s truly a match made in heaven. J

Fairy Tikka Masala
Don’t get alarmed by the name friends. This is not the tale of a cannibal. It’s the love story of Tikka and Fairy. Though it’s not well known, it surely deserves a mention, and I had promised Fairy that I will write about it. Most of you would never have associated Physics with love (except Parmeniac whose love itself is Physics :P), and so you will be surprised to know that their first meeting was in Physics MT. I had the fortune to formally introduce them and I wonder now if it was actually love at first sight. After the first day there was no looking back. Weekly meetings, flirting in MT, dates in IC… all these became regular features of their lives. I was a happy looker-on, as I was friendly with both of them. However, a terrible twist like those in Hindi soaps was awaiting this tale. During Waves (It was really “happening” this time for our group !!) we discovered that Tikka was double timing Fairy. He liked someone else. Fairy’s broken heart had to suffer the whole second night of Waves because she had to see them together in front of her eyes. Fortunately, BITS has the power to mend broken hearts quite fast. It wasn’t long before Fairy got over Tikka and apparently, has now found her new love, Phadke. This is just proof of the fact that love really is blind!! All of you who know fairy must be wondering “What about Dino and Subah Shyam??”. Well this question can be answered only by Fairy and I encourage everyone to pester her with it and many more ;P.
A Welcome to 2012
As the New Year is ushered in by sending hundreds of messages and facebook posts, I thought of taking a look at the year that just passed with respect to my college life. Unfortunately or fortunately, things happen so rapidly at BITS that it is quite difficult to remember each and every event. However, I am going to take a shot at it. The first half of the year saw some really memorable moments like the set of b’days which we celebrated properly with posters and all, the cricket world cup and many others. The surprise of the year was Bhookad getting committed and then wonderment at the extent of the commitment. The sem ended with Chameli also getting commited and then we parted ways for our first long vacation.
I took the long circuitous route to reach back to Goa, and finally, we were seniors. The first important event of the 3rd sem was my b’day and it was really special. Thanks to all my mad and creative friends who could create a cake out of biscuits and chocolates!! This sem also resulted in the advent of Mickey and Tikka in my life. In fact I spent quite a lot of time with them, mostly eating :P . EPS became another special part of life. The worst part seemed the decline of Bhookad’s interaction with us thanks to her other commitments. But then I and Shiro found each other. One of the best things that happened, I must say J. Adding to the jumble of relationships, I became quite close to Mickey, Parmeniac got feelings for Drake and Chameli broke up. Alongside with these were of course, Jadoo’s non relinquishing liking for Cindy, PU Girl’s ever changing love stories, Shiro’s love-hate relation with AKA and Weird-hair’s love for every other guy she saw :P. With all these and the fests Zephyr and Waves we managed to stumble through the sem to reach back home for the vacations. Overall it was a good year with its ups and downs. As I end this post, I remember the coca-cola ad- “Believe in a happier tomorrow”. This is the spirit of life which, I hope, continues for years to come. J

A tribute to Zephyr 2011
I actually started dabbing my hand in blogging when I was asked to write a blog for Zephyr as part of the coco. I was quite nervous at the beginning because it was an important responsibility and I had to report as accurately as I could. However due to the very same coco work, I didn’t get a chance to expand beyond the first article which I wrote for the blog. That’s why today I decided to dedicate a post to the event which became very close to my heart this sem. Initially I was a bit shy and silent during the meetings. This usually happens when I meet new people. But as I got to know them I realized that Zephyr coco is one of the wackiest groups on the campus. And then the fun began.
Day 0:
I had my cp lab from 5-7 that day. Luckily I managed to get out early and I was immediately sent back to my hostel to get my laptop. First day had its glitches with the sound system but ultimately the inaug and dance duo which followed it, folded up quite gracefully.
Day 1:
My duty at the outdoor stage began. The first event was mad ads and I sure went mad organizing it !! The ever late participants led to the event getting delayed by half-an-hour and so the judge refused to come. At the last moment we got our most favorite judge of Zephyr 2011 “Bijli”, who bailed us out in the hour of need. The event which was actually a last minute addition turned out to be an entertainer beyond our expectations. An excellent performance by AH-7 led to them being declared the winners. Their product was Himalaya face wash and Jadoo got so impressed by their narrator that she decided to start using it at once J.I took li8 for the next 2 events which were mock talk show and arm wrestling. Then the audi duty began and I finally reached my room dead tired at 12:30.
Day 2:
I was back at the outdoor stage, this time determined to start a bit early as it was a Saturday. However, the hostel reps refused to cooperate with my wish and we again started an hour later. This time however we had our original judges and went through stand-up comedy, rap battle and acoustic music. I wasn’t that much into the first 2, however acoustic music led to me getting into a fix with AH-8, as they continued singing even after my warning that the time limit is over and thus got negative marks. After this we ran to the audi to get the best seats for the fashP and face of zephyr. Both events met the expectations attached with them and another day of Zephyr dawned to an end.
Finally Day 3:
My last day at the outdoor stage. We started off with solo singing and then moved on to serial killer. By this time I got a bit bored and handed over the reins to an enthusiastic junior and went and enjoyed a gola treat :P. The last event on the outdoor stage was the dance showdown and it turned out to be such a thriller that at the end we had the whole crowd (including me) cheering for a guy from a first yearite hostel. Then we shifted our base to the audi for the final gold event- group dance. Group dance kept its level and its end marked the end of Zephyr 2011. However, things hadn’t ended for us yet. We had a cake cutting ceremony by our ex-convener and present convener and got our reward for our hard work. Ultimately we sneaked into our hostels at 12:35 and sank into a well deserved sleep after 4 days of running, chaos and fun.
Zephyr 2011 might have ended but it is a new beginning for us. Zephyr 2012 will be coming soon with more surprises and fun. This zephyr led to me getting better acquainted with MCP and a whole lot of other mad people with whom I enjoyed working. Overall, it was an awesome experience and looking forward to the same next year…

I,me and myself
After writing two posts, I suddenly realized that I had forgotten to introduce myself ( despite that being my favourite topic J ). I am Simba and as my name suggests I am a leo with all the stereotypical lion traits. I love reading and listening to music. I also enjoy singing and debating on random topics with friends. Since this blog deals mostly with campus life, let me give a brief intro to the best group of friends one can have. It comprises of :
1) Intellectual and multi- talented Parmeniac
2) Shy and sweet PU Girl
3) Good looking Chameli
4) “Dhakkan” but lovable Volini
5) Artsy Fairy
6) Mad “samaj sevak” and everyone’s favourite Weird Hair
7) Cute and crazy Jadoo
8) My beloved champ Shiro and
9) Finally a usually non-present Bhookad
There are also some other characters like Mickey who is omnipresent, Tikka who has become a good friend recently and a very irritating MCP.
Whoo…. After such a long list I will just sign off with this- I love being who I am, with just enough flaws which are manageable. J
Waves 2011
This year I had thought –“Waves toh li8”. After having become senior by one year and having gone through 3 fests, anyone would tend to wonder what new things can happen. However this Waves was definitely bigger and better than the last one, thus exceeding all my expectations. On a personal front , for our group, these 3 days brought many realizations to the surface. This was thanks to the amount of time we spent together and got to think. All of them cannot be expressed by the mere words which come to my mind as its not just about me. However, special thanks to Parmeniac and Jadoo who were with me on Day 3 with all their support. Ultimately, even though we might be a confused bunch of people, one thing is very clear – Waves 2011 rocked \m/ !! :)
Parmeniac -/\-
I wrote this quite some time ago...
You might be wondering why I am dedicating my first post to Parmeniac. It’s a long story..but to cut it short, Parmeniac has been a very good friend for quite a long time and basically it was one of her posts which inspired me to start my blog. She sits in front of her blog like a fat Cheshire cat who has just got a dish of cream, especially after writing something about one of us. So this is going to be an attempt to get back at her along with adding a few more opinions about the beloved characters created in her blog. And also a chance to express myself at a new level…
